Congress Votes Against Ending Tax Subsidies for Oil Companies? You've Gotta Be Kidding!

Where Hypocrisy & Gluttony Meet
-
The House of Representative recently considered a proposal to end tax subsidies for major oil companies.  Not surprising since the top 5 oil companies have made more than 1 Trillion Dollars in profits since 9/11.  Considering the fragile state of our economy and the furor raging over budget cuts one would think that the party who has been demanding fiscal responsibility would have been drawn to this proposal like bees to honey.  Not so, however, to every GOP house member who unanimously voted to continue paying out what will amount to more than 40 billion dollars in subsidies to these companies who are already swimming in money.  You’ve Got To Be Kidding!

State Governments Moving To Restrict Voter Registration
There is a movement underway in a number of states to enact restrictive and abusive voter ID laws under a thin veil of “preventing voter fraud.” Legislation already passed in Ohio could deprive nearly 900,000 citizens—mostly seniors, low-income individuals, students, the disabled and people of color—of their voting rights. A similar law was passed in Texas, and more laws are being considered in 20 other states. Call this Democracy? You've Got To Be Kidding!! What do you think?
